My name is John Doyle and I’m a photographer based in Ireland. I received my first Sony DSLR camera as a gift in 2009 and joined a local camera club where I could meet like minded people, learn with them and from them. Learning is a never ending journey and I know I have a long road ahead of me to improve my photography.

Nature is my inspiration. I love the peace and tranquility of walking around the woods or fields looking for something to photograph. It’s a great way to decompress from the stresses of everyday life. It gives me a creative outlet and is a great way to look after my well-being. Photography, like many other art forms, is great therapy.

I like to capture the little things that we sometimes take for granted, like a rapeseed field, which gives me a lift when I see fields of yellow throughout our landscape. Similarly I will enjoy a field full of buttercups and daisies or an old door or window with character.

I enjoy most types of photography. Landscapes, macro- photography and nature photography are some of the subjects I enjoy photographing. I enjoy seeing the landscape in other parts of the country and I like to capture it as I see it. Some of my favorite things to photograph are the old ruins of farm buildings, sheds, old churches, old houses, anything that gives the viewer an idea of the past.
