Thatched Cottage

The products of centuries of history and tradition.

Thatched Cottages have a long – standing presence in Ireland, dating back centuries. These cottages were primarily constructed using locally available materials, with straw or reed thatch for the roof and stone or mud walls.

Photographing the history of Irish thatched cottages through the lens of a camera allows me to capture the essence of traditional rural life.

From the iconic thatched roofs and Idyllic surroundings, these images tell a story of craftsmanship, simplicity, and the enduring spirit of Ireland’s past.
